Five of the Best: Stag Do Locations for Football Fans

An increasingly popular option for many stag parties is to take advantage of the wide range of flight links that connect us with cities across Europe and plan your stag do around going to a football match at one of Europe’s leading clubs. If your stag do is full of footy fans then it can make for a quality and highly memorable weekend.

With this in mind, while we do not sell stag party football tickets, we decided to create a list of some of the best European football cities. If you want the ideal complement to go with your European footy weekend, you could even put together a set of our stag do t-shirts featuring names, squad numbers, location and even some imagery related to the team you’re going to see. For now, here are five football cities we highly recommend:

Dortmund

We thought we’d begin with probably the most popular football hipster pick of recent times.

With Borussia Dortmund offering reasonable ticket prices, great beer, a top atmosphere and one of the best young teams in Europe in terms of on-field talent, making it the ideal fit for a football stag weekend.

If you travel to Germany to see the boys in yellow do their thing, you’ll get to see one of England’s brightest young talents in the form of Jadon Sancho. Most games in the Bundesliga still take place on a Saturday afternoon, allowing you to get your stag do football tickets and enjoy a night out on both Friday and Saturday.

Lisbon

Not only does Lisbon offer the stunning views and climate of the Portuguese south coast, but it is also home to two of the biggest teams in Europe in the form of Sporting Lisbon and Benfica.

As two of the ‘big three’, these teams are challenging FC Porto for the Liga Nos title most years, with Benfica being particularly successful.

Right now, both teams are likely to lose their biggest talent, with Joao Felix having just left Benfica for Atletico Madrid and Bruno Fernandes likely to leave Sporting Lisbon soon, but don’t fear, these two teams are never short on talent for long and will no doubt reinvest that money in a host of exciting young stars.

Barcelona

The football team of Barcelona requires little introduction, with many of the greatest players in the world and arguably the greatest player of all-time.

This makes a trip to Camp Nou a must for most football fans at sometime in their life. What should not be overlooked is that Barcelona is still one of the best European cities to visit for food, drink and a good time, making for the perfect football stag weekend.

If you want to experience football in Barcelona at slightly lower cost, or take in two games in the same weekend, it may be that Espanyol and/or Levante are also playing at home in La Liga, so there are no end of options to get your football fix in one of the most famous football cities in the world.

Amsterdam

You don’t need to tell us about Amsterdam’s reputation for being a great place to spend a stag weekend, but in addition to the bars and party opportunities, Amsterdam also has a rich football history.

The Amsterdam Arena is one of the most special places in Europe in terms of football heritage, with the enduring presence of football great Johan Cruyff looming large, and a range of stag do football tickets packages on offer.

Coming off the back of their best season in recent memory, Ajax are once again one of the most exciting teams in Europe to watch, and even with the departure of Frenkie de Jong and Matthias de Ligt, there’s still more than enough talent to make for an entertaining game.

Rome

Not only is Rome one of the most historic artistic and cultural cities in Europe, but it also has two of Europe’s leading teams and two of Europe’s most intense fan bases.

Roma and Lazio are usually in the top six of Serie A and have a lot to play for pretty much any time of the season, so whenever you buy your stag party football tickets for, you’re likely to see a compelling encounter.
